I grew up immersed in car culture. As far back as I can remember, everyone around me drove something interesting. I spent a ton of my youth hanging around garages and race shops trying to learn as much as I could. I was completely captured by everything from fabrication and mechanical to driving technique and race strategy.
As a college fine arts major, my career took me in many different directions. I had a 25-year career in art and design that spanned a myriad of disciplines and outputs. I created products and media for Fortune 500 companies, small non-profits and everything in between.
After a long hiatus, I got back into a race car with a “low-buck fun” endurance racing team. For fun, I started taking pictures of my co-drivers on track. As a race driver and artist, I had a vision of what I wanted to capture but I was struck by the challenge that track-side photography offered. It wasn’t long before I was spending as much effort on developing my track-side technique as I was on my corporate job. I spent all of my vacation over the following years track-side at venues up and down the west coast developing my craft and refining my techniques. At that point, the jump to full-time was natural and MC Motorsports Design was born.
It wasn’t long before my photography customers were asking me for design assistance with their other automotive-related projects. From these asks, I started creating custom racing helmets, race shop apparel, racing and street-car liveries and custom, automotive fine art.
Most everything MC Motorsports Design does is bespoke. If you’re interested in promotional photoshoots for your race shop or capturing your engineering mule on track, I’m available for private off and on-track photography sessions. Custom Helmet designs are created to your specifications, style and budget. Racing liveries are a collaborative process to ensure you (and/or your sponsors) are represented effectively.
If you have any questions about any of the above, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to walk you through each respective process.
